In a shocking incident from Delhi’s Pitampura, a man along with two accomplices attempted to rob a senior citizen at gunpoint in a desperate bid to arrange alimony money for his wife following their divorce. All three have been arrested, and the police have recovered the weapons and items used in the crime, officials confirmed on Monday.
As per Delhi Police, a PCR call was received on March 31 at Maurya Enclave Police Station regarding a gun being pointed at a senior citizen. Police reached the location promptly, where complainant Kamlesh Arora, 72, wife of Hemant Kumar and a resident of Pitampura, narrated the ordeal.
She said, “While I was at home at around 03:30 PM, an unknown man rang the bell claiming I had a courier and entered the house. He tried to choke me. Soon, another man armed with a weapon entered. My daughter, upon seeing the situation, rushed out and quickly locked the wooden door, after which the attackers fled on a motorcycle driven by their third associate.”
