Man Tries To Sacrilege Kali Mata’s Idol At Kali Devi Temple At Patiala. Suspect Arrested

Recently, CCTV footage of a very shocking incident has been surfacing all over social media. In the video, a masked man scaled the enclosure, where the idol of Kali Mata was kept and allegedly attempted to deface the idol. The man was immediately pushed away from the idol by the priest. The accused has been identified as Rajdeep Singh, a resident of Nain Kalan village near Devigarh in Patiala district.

As per reports of Times Of India, the man has been handed over to the Police. Further, Hindu Suraksha Samiti have called for a bandh in Patiala on Tuesday in protest of the sacrilege attempt. The police said that the motive of the crime is yet to be cleared but the investigation is on.

After this video went viral, Punjab’s CM Charanjit Singh Channi, tweeted and informed, “Today around 2.30 p.m, a person arrived at Sri Kali Mata Mandir in Patiala and climbed on the threshold where the Idol of Sri Kali Mata Ji was installed. Following this he was caught and handed over to the police.”

He further added, “Some vested interests are continuously trying to destabilize the social harmony of Punjab on the eve of the upcoming elections, but I will not let them succeed in their malicious motives.”

Bikram Singh Brar, Station House Officer, Kotwali, said the accused has been booked under Section 295-A and 354 of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, earlier an unknown man tried to allegedly sacrilege the Holy Sikh Scripture, Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The incident took place at Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar and was caught on camera during the live telecast from Sri Darbar Sahib.
