Mann Govt’s Strict Action On Private Schools In Punjab, A Big Relief To The Parents

CM Bhagwant Mann has ordered the private schools not to increase fees arbitrarily. As per the new orders of the AAP govt, the private schools in Punjab will have to put up a list of shops and submit it to the respective DEO. The DEOs will also form an inspection team for all the schools to ensure the orders are followed. As per the orders, if any of the schools is caught violating the orders, then strict action will be taken.

Along with this, the parents have now also got the freedom to buy uniforms and books from any shop. The Punjab government, in an order, said that section 5 of the Act directs all unaided institutions to notify and display the specifications of uniforms and books.

The state government has also ordered that the schools will not be pressurizing the parents or students to buy the uniform or books from any particular shop. After a meeting with the state officials, Education Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer issued an order stating that the list of shops has to be displayed in the schools. The schools should not change the uniform for the next two years, and if changed, the students should be given a time of 2 years to buy the uniform. If still any student fails to buy the uniform, he will be allowed to go to school in the old uniform.
