Merchant Navy Officer Murdered, Dismembered, and Sealed in Cement by Wife

A horrifying murder case has surfaced in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput was killed, dismembered, and his remains sealed inside a cement-filled drum. According to the police, the crime was orchestrated by his wife, Muskaan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla, due to their extramarital affair.

A Love Story That Took a Dark Turn

Saurabh and Muskaan married in 2016 after falling in love. To spend more time with his wife, Saurabh quit his job in the Merchant Navy, a decision that strained his relationship with his family. As tensions grew, the couple moved into a rented house. In 2019, they welcomed a daughter, but their happiness was short-lived.

Saurabh later discovered that Muskaan was having an affair with his friend, Sahil. Their marriage became strained, and divorce was considered. However, for the sake of his daughter, Saurabh chose to stay and rejoined the Merchant Navy in 2023.

On February 24, 2024, he returned home to celebrate his daughter’s sixth birthday. By this time, Muskaan and Sahil had already planned his murder.
The Chilling Execution

As per their police statements, on March 4, Muskaan laced Saurabh’s food with sleeping pills. Once he was unconscious, she and Sahil killed him with a knife, chopped his body into multiple pieces, and placed the remains inside a drum, sealing it with cement. Their plan was to dispose of it later.

To divert suspicion, Muskaan told neighbors that Saurabh had gone to a hill station. She and Sahil even traveled to Manali, using Saurabh’s phone to upload pictures on his social media accounts to create the illusion that he was still alive. However, when Saurabh stopped responding to calls, his family grew concerned and filed a police complaint.

The Murder Exposed

After an investigation, police detained Muskaan and Sahil. Under questioning, they confessed to the murder and revealed the location of the body.

When the police located the drum, they found the cement too hard to break using hammers and chisels. The drum was transported to the mortuary, where a drill machine was used to retrieve Saurabh’s remains—14 days after his gruesome killing.

Meerut City police chief Ayush Vikram Singh stated, “On suspicion, we took his wife Muskaan and her lover Sahil into custody. During questioning, they said that on March 4, they killed Saurabh with a knife. They chopped up the body, put it in a drum, and sealed it with cement. Police have recovered the body and sent it for autopsy. We have taken the two into custody, and they will be presented in court.”
