Ministers’ Mistakes Start to Damage PM Modi’s Strong Public Image

For a long time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi carried an image of being untouchable, a leader shielded from the political storms that often sweep others away. His appeal remained firm despite controversies swirling around his government. However, recent incidents suggest that cracks are beginning to appear, not because of external pressure, but from within his own team.

Several ministers’ careless remarks, administrative lapses, and public missteps are starting to take a toll on the Teflon coating that Modi once wore so confidently. Their actions have made it harder to shield the Prime Minister from public criticism, especially on sensitive issues like governance failures, unemployment, and inflation.

Instead of smooth management and disciplined messaging, internal blunders have started feeding opposition narratives, offering them ammunition that had earlier been hard to find. The government’s handling of these missteps also appears inconsistent, with swift action against some and silence on others, confusing even loyal supporters.

While Modi’s personal brand remains strong compared to most political rivals, the steady accumulation of small controversies has made his administration look more vulnerable than it once did. Analysts believe that unless checked quickly, these internal errors could snowball, making it harder for Modi to maintain his dominant grip in upcoming political battles.

In a leadership style so dependent on image and narrative control, the smallest leaks can have big consequences.
