Miss India Finalist Diksha Singh Loses Panchayat Election

BJP has been consistently leading in Panchayat elections and is continuing to do so in most of the districts. But this time, the two most important districts for BJP – Varanasi and Ayodhya are not exactly in the favour of this party.

Miss India Finalist Diksha Singh volunteered in Zila Panchayat elections as the seat was reserved for a female candidate. Diksha ranked at 5th in the elections with 2000 votes. The vocal point of her campaign was lack of basic facilities in her native place Jaunpur, Mumbai.

She also focused on improving women’s scenarios in the rural areas and bringing betterment around the district. BJP’ candidate, Nagina Singh won with a margin of about 5,000 votes. Meanwhile, A runner up of Femina Miss India 2015 also faced defeat even before she could start her career.
