Punjabi Singer, Miss Pooja joined the music industry in the year 2006 and at that time not many female singers existed in the industry. And today female singer Miss Pooja has completed 14years in the industry.

As an actress who works hard to represent the Punjabi folk world widely, in her previous interview shared her experience in the industry; “Initially it was tough for me to break into a male-dominated industry. But, I worked hard till there came a time when people would tell me, ‘ma’am customers ask for your latest album at our shops’.” Owing to the patriarchal mindsets of the industry, female singers were only relegated to playback singing and weren’t given a chance to show themselves on screen as male artists did through their music videos. “That was also the reason why not many people were aware of female singers by name or face. But slowly things changed and female singers are now as popular as their male counterparts,” she says as pooja wants more female singers in the industry.
