Naga Chaitanya Breaks Silence on Marriage With Sobhita, Says That She Has Nothing To Do With His Divorce With Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Naga Chaitanya recently addressed the ongoing speculations and rumours regarding his marriage with Sobhita. He expressed  his sympathy for Sobhita. When questioned about his divorce and subsequent remarriage, he said, “I feel worse for her than for myself. She has done nothing to deserve this negativity. Our relationship developed naturally and beautifully—we first connected through social media, met casually, and became friends before our bond deepened. She has no connection to my past, so it’s unfair when people misinterpret things and drag her into unnecessary controversy.”

Despite the rumours and criticisms, Chaitanya praised Sobhita for handling the situation with grace, patience, and maturity, calling her a “true hero” for the way she dealt with the public reaction to their relationship. Reflecting on his divorce, he admitted that coming from a separated family shaped his perspective. “I grew up in a broken home, so I would never take the decision to end a marriage lightly. It was a mutual choice, not something impulsive. Of course, it’s painful, but I believe everything happens for a reason,” he shared.

For context, Naga Chaitanya’s father, actor Nagarjuna, was married to Lakshmi Daggubati, sister of actor Venkatesh, from 1984 to 1990. Chaitanya was born from this marriage. Later, in 1992, Nagarjuna tied the knot with Amala Akkineni, and they have a son, actor Akhil Akkineni. Chaitanya was previously married to actress Samantha from 2017 to 2021 before he started dating Sobhita in 2022 and married her in 2024.
