With a starting price of ₹12.49 lakh, Tata Motors has introduced its mildly modified Tata Tigor EV car in India (ex-showroom). Notably, the claimed range for the redesigned Tata Tigor EV is now 315 kilometres per charge, which is a little improvement. New features including multi-mode regenerative braking, cruise control, leatherette upholstery, etc. are also added to the new Tigor EV.

Moreover, it’s interesting to note that starting in December 2022, Tata Motors will also make some of these features available to current customers. Talking about the prices, the XE variant costs ₹12.49 lakh, followed by the XT variant at ₹12.99 lakh, XZ+ variant at ₹13.49 lakh and the XZ+ Luz at ₹13.75 lakh. Notably, a new Magnetic Red colour option has also been introduced by Tata to its existing two-colour palette
Furthermore, an 8-year/1,60,000 km warranty on the battery and motor has been continued by the company. Moreover, the new Tata Tigor EV now has a claimed range of 315 kilometres on a single charge, an increase of 9 kilometres. Similarly, the same 26kWh battery pack and an electric motor with a max output of 74 BHP and 170 Nm are the major reasons behind this for this.
Also, a four-level regenerative braking system, which was previously seen on the Tata Nexon EV twins and the brand-new Tata Tiago EV, is also included in the new Tata Tigor EV. Rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, cruise control, leatherette upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Zconnect, smartwatch connection, iTPMS, and a tyre puncture kit are some of the new features. It’s interesting to see that Tata will also make some features backwards compatible. From December 20, 2022, all current Tata Tigor owners will have the opportunity to upgrade for free to include multi-mode regen, iTPMS, and tyre puncture kit. A smartwatch connectivity upgrade will also be available for the more powerful XZ+ and XZ+ dual-tone models. Moreover, it’s a good news for car lovers, especially for those who are planning to buy new vehicle!
