Bangladesh Government Cancels Nora Fatehi’s Performance To Save Dollars!

Bollywood dancer and actress Nora Fatehi not only is popular in India but enjoys a massive fan following across the world. She often attends international events and sets the stage on fire with her glamorous dance moves. Following her success and popularity, Nora Fatehi was also invited to dance and distribute awards at an event organized by Women Leadership Corporation in Bangladesh. 

While the actress must have been excited about this event, Bangladesh’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs has recently canceled her performance. Yes, this news is surprising but true. Bangladesh’s government has officially denied Nora Fatehi’s participation in their upcoming event.

While many fans are finding this announcement weird, others are even more surprised at the reason behind it. Yes, Bangladesh’s ministry of cultural affairs has also released a reason for this decision. 

As per a report in E Times, according to a notice issued by Bangladesh’s ministry of cultural affairs, Nora Fatehi’s permission was denied “in view of the global situation and with the aim of maintaining the foreign exchange reserves.” The ministry further stated the central bank’s restrictions on dollar payments amid diminishing foreign exchange reserves, which slipped to $36.33 billion till October 12, it’s enough to cover roughly four months of imports from $46.13 billion a year earlier. 

As per Anne-Marie Gulde-Wolf, deputy director of the Asia and Pacific Department at the IMF, later this month, the International Monetary Fund is getting prepared to send its first negotiation mission to Bangladesh to talk about the loans that the country has pursued.

This news is going viral on the internet and attracting mixed responses from the netizens. While some are busy trolling the actress, others feel Bangladesh’s government needs to be more formal and work hard to make things run smoothly.

For now, Nora Fatehi has not reacted or made any public comments on this news. Moreover, on the work front, Nora recently made international headlines following her feature in the official Fifa World Cup’s soundtrack. Also, her song ‘Manike’ from the upcoming Bollywood movie Thank God is also trending on various music streaming platforms.
