Not A Bollywood Project, But A Punjabi Song Was Bipasha Basu’s Career Debut

Bipasha Basu is well recognised for her work in the Bollywood industry. She has some big hits in her basket. She has starred in some of the highest grossers of the Bollywood film industry like Race, No Entry, Phir Hera Pheri and Bachna Ae Haseeno in her acting career. Bipasha debuted in Bollywood with a negative role in the film Ajnabee. But on a strange note, this wasn’t her on-screen debut.

Bipasha started her career with a Punjabi song named ‘Sauda Khara Khara’ with the Punjabi singer Sukhbir. Sukhbir released this superhit track in the year 1999 and Bipasha’s on-screen debut was in 2001. Whereas, Bipasha Basu was indulged in the fashion projects before this Punjabi song too. She won a supermodel contest in 1996 and later pursued her career as a fashion model. She then made her first on-screen debut with Sauda Khara Khara.

The actress later got noticed for her work and started receiving offers for the film and ended up doing Ajnabee, her first film. Sauda Khara Khara not only featured Bipasha Basu but also had Dino Morea, an Indian actor and former model, as the lead opposite Basu in the song. Also, Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu were dating each other in the course of time when the song was released. So this feature was quite obvious.

Sauda Khara Khara was later recreated in the year 2019 for the Bollywood movie, Good Newwz by Diljit Dosanjh, Sukhbir and Dhvani Bhanushali and came out to be a superhit party track of that year. The original Sauda Khara Khara has managed the audience to stick with till date and it still feels like a fresh song.
