Not The Bollywood Film Andaaz, But This Punjabi Song Marked Priyanka Chopra’s Acting Debut

Priyanka Chopra is believed to be one of those A-list actors of the Indian cinema who ruled the Bollywood industry with flawless performances and later went on to shine in the Hollywood industry too. But are you aware of the fact that Priyanka didn’t start her career directly with Bollywood projects.

Priyanka Chopra made her movie debut with a Tamil film named Thamizhan in 2002, before making it to the Bollywood movies like The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy and Andaaz (lead role). But before all this, Punjabi industry was the one that already tasted her on-screen appearance through a song.

Sajan Mere Satrangiya, a Punjabi song by legendary artist Daler Mehndi was the debut  project of Priyanka Chopra. It was released back in 2000 when Priyanka was announced as the 50th Miss World from India. The year she made an appearance and debuted with the song Sajan Mere Satrangiya, she was just 18 years old, later, she was crowned as the Miss World and was offered more projects in the same year. It was in 2002 when she officially made her debut in the movie industry, first in South and then in Bollywood. 

Sajan Mere Satrangiya was a song from Daler Mehndi’s 2000-released album named Ek Dana. It was a successful album for the artist after delivering big hits like Bolo Tara Ra Ra, Tunak Tunak and more. 

Not just this Punjabi song by Daler Mehndi, Priyanka Chopra has also produced a Punjabi movie named Sarvann (2017) which featured Amrinder Gill, Simi Chahal and Ranjit Bawa in the lead roles. It was her first Punjabi as a producer.

Priyanka Chopra started off her career in 2000 and since then she has not taken any step back and is now earning fame in Hollywood as well. Winning beauty pageants, delivering her best in movies like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Aitraaz, Krrish, turning into a producer, to marking her presence in the Hollywood industry, she has been a part of a long race which is still continued. We are always eager to watch more of her on the big screens and we would love to see her sometime again in a Punjabi song.
