Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed 51,236 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates for central government departments and organisations during the 15th edition of the Rozgar Mela, held on Saturday. The event, conducted virtually, was simultaneously coordinated across 47 locations nationwide.

Addressing the new recruits, PM Modi congratulated them on securing permanent roles and highlighted their crucial contribution to the country’s progress. “With your new responsibilities, you now play a crucial part in strengthening India’s economy, infrastructure, internal security, and the welfare of its people. The more dedicated you are, the faster we progress towards a Viksit Bharat,” he said.

The Prime Minister described the youth as the primary drivers of national advancement and emphasised their essential role in establishing India as a global powerhouse. “If the youth are stakeholders in a country’s development, then rapid growth follows. Today, India’s youth are proving their potential,” he noted.

Pointing to government initiatives such as Skill India, Startup India, and Digital India, PM Modi highlighted the significant opportunities these platforms have created for innovation and entrepreneurship. “In this decade, our youth have taken India to unprecedented heights in technology and innovation. Platforms like UPI, ONDC, and GeM show how young Indians are leading digital transformation,” he added.

PM Modi also touched upon the new Manufacturing Mission introduced in the Budget 2025-26, aimed at strengthening the ‘Make in India’ campaign and encouraging the youth to create products that can compete globally.

He further cited the impressive growth witnessed in sectors like automobile, footwear, and the Khadi and cottage industries, mentioning that the turnover of Khadi and village industries has now surpassed ₹1.7 lakh crore.
