Additionally, one more story would be added in the list, with Punjab’s farmer Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi of Sangrur, who is moving his entire house 500 feet away from the current location, for the construction of a highway.
Sukhwinder’s plan to move his house 500 feet away from the main location, has made him famous overnight across the social media platforms. Farmer Sukhwinder, who spent almost ₹1.5 crore to built his house, was not at all ready and prepared to break it and rebuild somewhere else, so he decided to move his entire house 500 feet away, to leave space for construction of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway.

However, the shifting of this entire huge 2-story house in Roshanwala village, is not an easy task. As per the info, the government offered him the compensation, but he refused and chose to shift the entire structure 500 feet away from the location. “I didn’t want to build another house at any cost. I’ve spent almost ₹1.5 crore to build this house, so I’ve decided to move it 500 feet away. It has already been moved by 250 feet,” said Sukhwinder to news agency ANI.

According to the media reports, a private contractor has been given the responsibility to move the house. As of now, the structure has been moved by 250 feet and the remaining 250 feet of shifting is yet to be done. A lot of construction workers have been working to move the structure. Reportedly, it’s been moved by 10 feet per day.
As of now, the shifting of the house by 250 feet took almost 2 months, and the remaining moving would take two more months to completely shift the house by 500 feet. As soon as the news went viral on the social media, a lot of people have been visiting the site to witness how the shifting is going on. Moreover, this is something out-of-the-box that has surprised the people.
