Punjab: AAP Files FIR Against The BJP For Allegedly Offering Money To Its MLAs

The ongoing political tussle between the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP in Punjab, seems to raise now, moreover, with the AAP complaining to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, demanding adequate investigation against the BJP. Furthermore, the AAP has claimed that the saffron party offered ₹25 crore per MLA to topple the Punjab government.

Reportedly, according to a State Police spokesperson, the Punjab Police “registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Sections 171-B and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) following a complaint filed by some MLAs of the state.”

“The Police issued a FIR on prima facie grounds,” the spokeswoman continued, “and the inquiry has been forwarded to the Vigilance Bureau in accordance with the standard procedures,” she further added. Moreover, finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema, in a press conference, said, in order to expose the cheap tactics of the BJP, I and the other AAP MLAs filed a formal complaint along with “all the proofs” to DGP Gaurav Yadav for a fair investigation into the matter.

As per the information, on Wednesday, AAP MLAs Rupinder Singh Happy, Budh Ram, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Kulwant Pandori, Raman Arora, Dinesh Chadha, Narinder Kaur Bharaj, Sheetal Angural, Rajneesh Dahiya and Labh Singh Ugoke accompanied minister Cheema to the DGP’s office. Furthermore, a complaint even includes the alleged death threats by the BJP leaders to Jalandhar West MLA Sheetal Angural.

However, the BJP has been denying the allegations, claiming that Mr. Kejriwal is trying to remove Mr. Bhagwant Mann from the post of Punjab CM, citing it as the actual reason behind all this tussle. On the other hand, CM Bhagwant Mann, in a video message, said, “The operation lotus of the BJP, failed in Delhi. Now they have approached 6-7 MLAs in Punjab, offering them money.”

Meanwhile, BJP’s national spokesperson Tarun Chugh has demanded a CBI probe into the matter, calling the AAP’s accusations a “ridiculous joke”. However, with the FIR filed in the case, the entire matter has taken an interesting turn.
