While addressing the public in Kapurthala, chief minister Bhagwant Mann urged the people to join the initiative and turn it into a widespread movement, noting that there would be no shortage of funding for this admirable cause.

CM even praised Seechewal’s efforts to clean the Kali Bein and stated that the historic action taken some 22 years back, served as a spur for cleaning the water body. He claimed that in order to continue the legacy of great gurus, similar efforts must be taken on a large scale.

He also said that the government would not be reluctant to invest a sizable number of money on this worthwhile endeavour.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann even lashed out at the previous Congress and Akali Dal governments for betraying the people of Punjab by destroying the biosphere despite being charged with upholding the law. “The ministers should have prioritised increasing the amount of green cover by planting trees instead of allowing tree cutting and collecting commissions from it,” he further added.
