Punjab: CM Mann Leads The Campaign To Take Possession Of 2828 Acres Of Land Encroached Illegally

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann personally supervised a government operation on Friday to evict 15 powerful encroachers from 2828 acres of prime land that had been illegally encroached, worth Rs 350 crore in Majri block of SAS Nagar, including the sons of newly elected Sangrur MP Simranjit Singh Mann and former Minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar. As tweeted by CMO Punjab:

“In an unprecedented action, CM @BhagwantMann personally supervised a government drive to take possession of 2828 acres of illegally encroached prime land worth ₹350 crore in Block Majri of the SAS Nagar from 15 influential encroachers including son of MP Simranjit Singh Mann.”

CM Mann himself led the campaign, taking possession of the land in Chotti Badi Naggal village, stated that this is a prime land that has been illegally occupied some powerful influencers and politicians for long. Shockingly, CM Mann added that Sangrur MP Simranjit Singh Mann’s son Imaanjit Singh Mann has illegally occupied 125 acres of land. 

Harmandeep Singh Dhaliwal, son of former Congress minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar, now a member of the BJP, has also been accused of encroaching 5 acres of land. “The daughter of Sangrur MP Simranjit Mann, has also occupied 28 acres of land illegally,” CM Mann further stated. 

CM Mann added that since May 1, 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab has taken control of 9053 acres of valuable land that had been illegally encroached by various influencers. He claimed that it was a one of the guarantees given by the AAP during the elections which the government is fulfilling, and lauded minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal for the campaign.
