Chal Mera Putt, released in 2019, is one of the most loved Punjabi movies. It was well-received by the audience and became the highest-grossing Punjabi movie in the overseas market. This made director Janjot Singh make a sequel to the movie, named “Chal Mera Putt 2”.
Starring Amrinder Gill, Simi Chahal and Garry Sandhu in the lead roles, the movie was released on 13 March, 2020. The movie was doing fine and receiving response just like its prequel but COVID-19 did not like that. The theatres were shut down due to the global pandemic and Chal Mera Putt 2 had to suffer. Since the day the audience has been waiting for the re-release of the movie.
Recently, Zafri Khan, a part of the Chal Mera Putt 2 cast, revealed through an answer on ‘Q’ n ‘A’ on his instagram account that the movie will be re-released soon in theatres. He also added that the movie will also get an OTT release, either on Netflix or on Amazon prime OTT platforms.
It is a happy news for the fans of the movie because it’s been a year since the audience have been waiting for the movie to release. And now, coming from the cast of the movie, the release is confirmed. No information is known regarding the exact release date but as the theatres are slowly opening and the world is coming out of the global pandemic, it can be expected to release soon.
