Punjabi Sufi Singer Manmeet Singh’s Body Found In Himachal Following A Flash Flood

A heart-breaking news for Punjabi community to start their day with, Punjabi Sufi singer Manmeet Singh’s body has been finally found following a flash flood. It was discovered in the Kareri Lake area in the Kangra district by the rescue operation team which went on the lookout for the body on Tuesday.

Manmeet Singh was one of the singers of the Sain brothers music group known for their Sufi Punjabi songs. He, along with some friends, had come to Dharamshala for a trip a few days ago. On Monday, the group decided to go to Kareri from Dharamshala. 

This decision turned out to be the most unfortunate decision of Manmeet and his friends’ life. Himachal Pradesh, especially the areas near Dharamshala have been facing heavy flash floods for the past few days. Manmeet Singh is believed to have slipped and fallen into the Kareri Lake and his body to have been swept away by the floods. Now, the body of the Sufi singer is being sent to Amritsar.

The flash floods have resulted in heavy loss of man, money and material. At least nine people are believed to have died and eight others have been reported missing following the flash floods. 

The irrecoverable loss of Manmeet Singh has put the Punjabi Music fans into a state of grief. The heavy rains in the state have not yet stopped and are causing more and more damage to the infrastructure as well as life.
