Rahul Gandhi Or Someone Else? Who Would Be The Next Congress President? Here’s All You Need To Know

Who will be the next Congress president? Will it be again a Rahul Gandhi move? Or someone from outside the Gandhi family will get a chance this time? All these questions have been once again raising with the elections for the post of Congress national president approaching.

As stated by the Congress party earlier, the elections for the top post of the grand-old-party would be held between August-September 2022. However, former chief Rahul Gandhi has continuously refused to accept the post, but the recent activities are somewhere giving the signs of Rahul Gandhi again holding the reins of the party.

The “Bharat Jodo Yatra” of the Congress party, which is scheduled to start from October 2, on the eve of the Gandhi Jayanti, will be headed by Rahul Gandhi. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the grand-old-party will connect with the people through “padyatra” headed by Rahul Gandhi. This has once again raised the speculations of Rahul Gandhi again holding the reins of the party.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi is silence on the issue. As per the media reports, a group of leaders have even approached former CM of Madhya Pradesh and a very close aide of Gandhis for decades, Mr. Kamal Nath, and urged him to contest the elections for the post of Congress national president. However, Kamal Nath has refused, adding that he won’t leave Madhya Pradesh.

Apart from Kamal Nath, many names like Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, who is known for his “jadugari” and failing operation lotus various times, is on the top of the list.

Gehlot is one of the sharp strategist politicians who has troubles the duo of Modi-Shah, by not just failing the operation lotus in Rajasthan, but even giving a tough challenge to the saffron party in the 2017 Gujarat elections, where he was the chief strategist of Congress.

Even senior leader Ambika Soni’s name is buzzing since she hoisted the flag at the Congress headoffice on August 15. Though, as cleared by the party, it was due to Sonia Gandhi’s absence because of health issues. Meanwhile, as speculated, the official notification for the election of Congress chief, may be released in the last week of August.

On August 28, the grand-old-party will be holding “Mehengai pe halla bol” rally at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi. With these developments and Rahul Gandhi leading the campaign, its speculated that he may again hold the reins of the party.
