Rajasthan: BJP Expells MLA Shobharani Kushwaha For Cross Voting In RS Polls, May Join Congress Next Week

The Bharatiya Janata Party in Rajasthan, has expelled MLA Shobharani Kushwaha from the party, for voting in favour of Congress leader Pramod Tiwari in the recent Rajya Sabha polls. As per the media reports, Shobharani may join the Congress party next week.

During the recent Rajya Sabha polls, the Congress party fielded – Randeep Singh Surjewala, Pramod Tiwari and KC Venugopal, while the BJP fielded Ghanshyam Tiwari and supported independent Subhash Chandra for the third seat. The party had issued a whip to its MLAs to vote for Subhash Chandra.

On the other hand, amidst the speculations of horse trading, the MLAs of the Congress party were safeguarded in a resort, but Subhash Chandra still claimed the support of 8 Congress MLAs. But at the time of voting, all the 126 MLAs of INC’s side, including the independents supporting the Gehlot govt, voted in favour of the Congress candidates.

Surprisingly, one BJP MLA, who was expected to vote for Subhash Chandra, voted for BJP’s first candidate Ghanshyam Tiwari, and one more MLA’s vote was dismissed, while MLA Shobharani Kushwaha voted in favour of Congress candidate Pramod Tiwari, due to which, BJP-supported independent Subhash Chandra faced a humiliating defeat.

Now, as per the media reports, MLA Shobharani Kushwaha is in touch with independent MLA Giriraj Malinga, who is supporting the Congress party. Shobharani will be joining the INC next week. In the recent Rajya Sabha polls, the BJP was able to win the extra seats in Haryana and Maharashtra, but in Rajasthan, as claimed by the political analysts, Cong’s “jadugar” Ashok Gehlot’s magic led to defeat of the Saffron party.
