The upcoming movie Adipurush starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the leading roles is currently the hottest topic of discussion on the internet. Directed by National award winner Om Raut, Adipurush is set to witness a grand theatrical release on January 12, 2023.
Recently the makers of Adipurush tried to treat the fans with the first look and teaser of the film. The teaser is a 1-minute-46-seconds long video which has entertained the fans with the first looks of the characters and massive VFX in the film.
Unfortunately, the teaser of Adipurush has not landed well in the market. Netizens are highly disappointed and unhappy with the teaser. Fans feel, the film’s team has ruined the epic story of Ramayana. We even came across some tweets in which netizens expressed that ruining a story like Ramayana is unexpected.
While the netizens are already disappointed with the Adipurush teaser, now Dipika Chikhlia and Sunil Lahri have also stepped ahead to bash the film. These actors are known to play the iconic characters of Mata Sita and Laxmana in DD National’s superhit Ramayana. It was directed by Ramanand Sagar and went on to earn massive love and appreciation from fans. The mythological show was once again telecasted during Lockdown and again succeeded in winning more hearts.
And now, when a big movie has been made on the similar mythological epic Ramayana, the star cast of DD National’s Ramayana seems unhappy with it.

Both Sunil Lahri and Dipika Chikhlia have expressed their disappointment against the teaser of Adipurush. Sunil Lahri in a conversation with DNA reacted to Adipurush and said, “Definitely it (VFX) was difficult to digest that. See, at that time (during Ramayan) we were new to technology, we tried to achieve the best with our maximum efforts. That’s why people still appreciated it even 35 years after of its release. The young generation doesn’t feel that the show had ‘cartoonish’ (effects), or made a mockery out of that.”
He also added, “Agar iss tarah ki technology rahi hoti… toh ho sakta hai (Ramanand) Sagar Saab kuch aur banate, aur aacha banate. I do believe that even though we have evolved in VFX, the visual feat Sagar Saab has achieved, will be difficult to repeat it. Phele sab manual kaam hota tha, aaj sab presets hai and they stick to that. Woh effort hi nahi karna chahte. Even though we used to in green screen and blue screen, we used to look after each and every detail, and we put in the same amount of hard work.”
On the other hand, in an interview with India Today, Ramayan’s Sita; Dipika Chikhlia said that a film’s characters must appeal to the audience. According to her, if the character is from Sri Lanka, they should not look like Mughals. The actress also added that she couldn’t understand much as one gets to see him for mere 30 seconds in the teaser, but he does look different. Dipika also added that she agrees that times have changed and VFX is an essential part but only as long as the people’s sentiments are not hurt.

Netizens believe the makers of Adipurush should be warned and try to fix the film as much as possible. Adipurush has been made with a whopping budget of 700 crores, and people are calling it just a modern and expensive version of Temple Run.
