Ranveer Allahbadia apologizes after backlash over ‘India’s Got Latent’ remarks

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, has issued a public apology following significant backlash over his remarks on the show India’s Got Latent. The controversy arose after Allahbadia posed an inappropriate question to a contestant, which many deemed offensive.

In response to the incident, a complaint was filed against Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, and the show’s organizers, alleging the promotion of obscenity. The complaint was submitted to the Mumbai Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, calling for strict action against the accused.

Former National Commission for Women Chairperson, Rekha Sharma, criticized the content, emphasizing the need for responsible content creation.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also condemned the incident, stating, “Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others.” He emphasized that violating societal norms is wrong, and strict action should be taken against those responsible. In his apology video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Allahbadia expressed regret for his comments, acknowledging their inappropriateness and the offense caused. He assured viewers of his commitment to more mindful content in the future.

The incident has ignited discussions about content standards and the responsibilities of digital creators. Authorities are currently reviewing the complaint, with potential actions pending.
