The trend of making biopics in Bollywood is growing massively with time. We have seen various successful bollywood biopics like Sanju (Sanjay Dutt), MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (MS Dhoni), Dangal (Geeta Phogat & Babita Phogat) and more. And, to now, Kishore Kumar’s biopic is the new talk of the town.
Yes, Bollywood is working on making a biopic based on the life of India’s most versatile and most loved singer-actor Kishore Kumar. Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor was reportedly set to play the leading role, but now some reports suggest Ranveer Singh might replace the Barfi actor for the project.

Kishore Kumar was the finest voice of Hindi Film Industry and his superhit songs like Mere Sapno Ki Rani, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi and more are still considered the classic evergreen hits. His life has been a rollercoaster ride and the tales from his life have always entertained and excited his fans. Hence, Anurag Basu had expressed his desire to make a biopic on the musical legend’s life.
He was in talks with Ranbir Kapoor regarding the same and the actor too was keen for playing such a legendary artist on screen. But unfortunately, Ranbir’s decision to take a break from movies might lead him to miss this amazing opportunity.
As per a report in Hindustan Times, Ranbir Kapoor had said that he is working on Kishore Daa’s biopic for the last 11 years and they have been writing the project with Anurag Basu. Ranbir also said that he’s hoping that it’s gonna be his next biopic. But he has not heard anything about the project officially from Anurag dada.

And later in another interview, Ranbir Kaooor recently talked about his desire to take a break. In a conversation with GoodTiMes, he said, “I’ve not signed anything after Animal. I haven’t signed a film yet and I’m not looking for anything either. I would like to take a little bit of a break to understand after Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar and Animal where I stand, where the film industry stands.”
Ranbir’s such statements have made the makers of Kishore Kumar biopic in dilemma. That’s why they are planning to shift their focus to the second choice for the role that is none other than Ranveer Singh.
The makers of the biopic wish to kick start the shooting of the long awaited project by the end of 2023. But now, as Ranbir Kapoor is in a state of confusion, the makers might rope in Ranveer Singh on board. However, filmmaker Anurag Basu desires to reunite with his Barfi star. Now, Ranbir Kapoor gets to decide if he wants to let go of the Kishore Kumar biopic or wants to stick with this exciting project. It is expected that Ranbir Kaooor will probably make up his mind after the release of his upcoming movie Animal.
