Delhi Police has arrested the main accused who made the ‘deep fake’ video of actress Rashmika Mandanna in November.
News agency ANI gave this information on Saturday quoting Delhi Police. About two months ago, a deep fake video showing actress Rashmika Mandanna entering a lift went viral on social media.
Deputy Commissioner of IFSO Unit of Delhi Police, Hemant Tiwari talked about arresting the main accused of making a deep fake video.
After the video was uploaded on social media, the Special Cell of Delhi Police took cognizance of the matter on November 10. The original video was of another woman who was seen entering the lift in a black dress.
The accused had allegedly used Artificial Intelligence (AI) to morph Mandanna’s face into that of a woman in the video.
Four accused were caught in December in the case of Rashmika Mandanna’s deepfake video but the main accused was eluded by the police.
Now Delhi Police got a big success and the main accused who created the deepfake of Rashmika Mandanna has been arrested from Andhra Pradesh. It is noteworthy that the girl in Rashmika Mandanna’s deepfake video was British-Indian influencer Zara Patel.
The accused had put Rashmika Mandanna’s face on Zara Patel’s body. After Rashmika Mandanna’s deepfake video went viral, many Bollywood stars including Zara Patel reacted strongly to it.
