Ratan Tata’s lasting impact isn’t just in business; even in passing, his fortune of Rs 3,800 crore is directed toward philanthropy and those closest to him. The bulk of his wealth will strengthen the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation and the Ratan Tata Endowment Trust, both dedicated to charitable causes he deeply valued.
His vast financial holdings, including shares in Tata Sons, will largely support these foundations, ensuring that his vision of giving back continues. However, his generosity extends beyond philanthropy- he has also provided for family, friends, and trusted companions.
A substantial Rs 800 crore from his assets, covering financial investments and prized possessions like art and luxury watches, will be shared among his half-sisters, Shireen and Deanna Jejeebhoy, along with Mohini M. Dutta, a longtime Tata Group associate. His brother, Jimmy Tata, is set to inherit a portion of their Juhu bungalow and family heirlooms. Meanwhile, Mehli Mistry, a close friend, will receive Tata’s Alibaug property and a cherished firearm collection.
Adding personal warmth, Tata ensured Rs 12 lakh is reserved for the care of his beloved pets. His executive assistant, Shantanu Naidu, will have his student loan cleared, and his neighbor, Jake Malite, will benefit from an interest-free education loan.
His will also dictates that his Seychelles land be transferred to RNT Associates Singapore, with measures in place to protect the interests of key shareholders.
Even in his absence, Tata’s wealth continues his commitment to kindness, generosity, and lasting impact.
