Ravi Kishan Opens Up About Overcoming Casting Couch And How It Affected His Success, Watch Interview Here

Ravi Kishan, who has a strong foothold in his career with over 450 films in Bhojpuri, has also been a victim of casting couch. Ravi Kishan recently opened up about facing casting couch during his early days in the industry. The actor shared that he left his village in Bihar at a young age and moved to Mumbai because he desperately needed to escape poverty. During this challenging time, some people tried to take advantage of his weakness but Ravi stood firm and decided not to compromise on his values.

In an interview with Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube, Ravi Kishan spoke on the issue of men being targeted by sexual predators in the film industry. He said, ‘When you are young and good-looking, when you are fit but you don’t have money, some people try to take advantage of you. This happens not only in films but in many fields. They try their hand and hope it works.’

Ravi recalled facing many such attacks during his youth and how his lean physique, long hair and an earring caught everyone’s attention. He advised actors not to succumb to such pressures and stressed that there are no shortcuts to success. Ravi said, ‘I have faced many such attacks in my youth… I want to tell everyone that there are no shortcuts to success. I know many people who have tried such shortcuts and have regretted it immensely. They have got caught in addictions, or have taken their own lives.’

Instead, Ravi chose to wait for his moment of success. He said, ‘I have not seen anyone become a star by taking shortcuts. Wait for your time to come. Be patient. I would tell myself that one day the sun will rise for me. All my friends in the 90s, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn, became superstars. But I waited for my time.’

Ravi Kishan’s perseverance paid off and today he is one of the biggest stars. He was recently seen in India’s official Oscar-nominated film Laapatta Ladies’.
