Gadar 2 saw its blockbuster opening on August 11, 2023. The film which is a sequel of Gadar has created a history for itself by selling 20 lakh tickets in advance! The good news was shared by Anil Sharma, the director and the producer of Gadar 2.
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, starring Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol was released in 2001. The romantic action film was about two lovers Sakina and Tara Singh who get married during the partition.
After the partition, Sakina’s father forces her to stay in Pakistan which leads to their Ill fated separation. After that a series of action and drama take place and Sunny Deol emerges out to be a macho hero who goes to Pakistan to bring his wife back.
Gadar 2 hit the big screens after 22 years and the audience is very excited for it. The aura and appreciation that the first part received is still alive in the hearts of all the fans. The trailer of the film made fans even more curious as the makers decided to maintain some of the originality from the first part.
Another reason why the craze of this film is still intact is that the star studded cast is almost the same. The leading lady Ameesha Patel has done a comeback along with our very own Sunny Paaji. Even their onscreen son from Gadar: Ek Prem Katha Utkarsh Sharma ( who has grown up now) will also be seen in the film. Moreover the actress who played the role of Sunny Deol’s aunt is also back.
Apart from the star cast, another attractive factor for the film is the songs. Gadar 2 also features hit songs from the part 1 like “ Mai nikla gaddi leke” and “ Udd Ja kale Kawa”. The originality and the emotions these songs hold are still intact and a melting point for all the fans.
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was a blockbuster film of 2000s and fans still watch it whenver it airs on the TV. The “jodi” of Sakina ans Tara Singh was loved by everyone and let’s see how the second part of the fim fares on the big screen.
