Music director Sachin Ahuja has called out the makers of Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Dhurandhar for using a legendary Punjabi folk song without giving credit. In a sharp social media post, he said the song Na De Dil Pardesi Nu was originally composed by his father, Shri Charanjit Ahuja, and featured vocals by Mohd. Siddiq and Ranjit Kaur, with lyrics by Babu Singh Maan.
The track was used in the teaser of Dhurandhar, but Ahuja noted that none of the original creators were credited on YouTube or official platforms. He described them as “legends of Punjabi music” and urged the team to acknowledge their work. His post quickly went viral, sparking debate on cultural respect in Bollywood.
Following the backlash, the Dhurandhar team quietly updated the credits to include the original artists. Sachin Ahuja later thanked them for the prompt action and respectful acknowledgment, calling it a step in the right direction.
