Samay Raina Removes ‘India’s Got Latent’ Videos Amid Legal Actions and Public Backlash

Comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina has removed all videos from his India’s Got Latent series on February 12, 2025, following legal actions and widespread criticism from prominent public figures. The controversy began after a specific episode featuring podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia included an inappropriate joke about “parental s*x,” which sparked public outrage.

In response to the incident, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell filed a case against Raina, Allahbadia, and other participants for allegedly broadcasting obscene content. The case was registered under relevant sections of the IT Act, and authorities have initiated the process of sending notices to all involved individuals.

Additionally, the National Commission for Women (NCW) summoned Raina, Allahbadia, and others over the derogatory remarks made during the episode. The NCW has taken serious note of the vulgar and offensive remarks and is scheduled to conduct a hearing on February 17, 2025.

Facing significant backlash, Ranveer Allahbadia issued a public apology, acknowledging his inappropriate comment and expressing regret for his lapse in judgment. He stated, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry.”

The incident has ignited discussions about the boundaries of humor in digital content and the responsibilities of content creators. As legal proceedings continue, it remains to be seen whether Raina and other involved individuals will face further legal consequences or make changes to their content creation practices.
