After ‘Laapataa Ladies’, Sandhya Suri’s ‘Santosh’ Gets An Official Entry In The Oscars 2025 From India

After Kiran Rao’s movie Laapataa Ladies’ got an official entry in Oscars, the name of another movie from India is coming forward, which has moved ahead in the race to get this prestigious award. It is being said that Sandhya Suri’s film ‘Santosh’ has been selected by the UK as the Best International Feature Film for the Oscars to be held in 2025. It has also got an official entry now.

According to a report, this film has been selected by BAFTA. Shahana Goswami and Sunita Rajwar are in the lead roles in ‘Santosh’. And this film also premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this year, where the whole cast arrived. This film was released on a large scale in the UK.

It is produced by Mike Goodridge, James Bosher, Balthazar de Ganay and Alan McAlex. Executive producers are Ama Ampadu, Eva Yates, Diarmid Scrimshaw, Lucia Haslauer and Martin Gerhard. The film is produced by Good Chaos, with co-producers Razor Film and Haute et Court, and is financed by BFI and BBC.

Written and directed by Sandhya Suri, this movie is an investigative thriller. Talking about its story, there is a woman who is newly married but after the death of her husband, the wife gets the job of a police constable. After which she is seen solving the mystery of a girl’s murder.
