Saudi Flight Lands in Lucknow Amid Technical Snag, Smoke Seen from Aircraft Wheel

Sunday saw two alarming flight-related incidents that left passengers shaken but safe. In Lucknow, a Saudi Arabia Airlines flight carrying around 250 people, including Hajj pilgrims, landed amid a technical snag. As the Airbus A330-343 touched down after its journey from Jeddah, smoke was spotted coming from its left wheel. According to initial reports, a hydraulic system leak may have caused the issue. Airport emergency teams responded swiftly, and all passengers were safely disembarked without any injuries.

On the same day, a separate security scare unfolded aboard a Hyderabad-bound Lufthansa flight. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner had taken off from Frankfurt, Germany, but had to turn back mid-flight after receiving a bomb threat. The flight had departed at 2:14 PM local time and was expected to land at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport early Monday. However, Lufthansa stated that the aircraft returned to Frankfurt not only due to the bomb threat but also because it did not receive permission to land in Hyderabad.

These two incidents occurred just days after a tragic Air India crash involving a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that collided with a building, killing all but one passenger. While Sunday’s scares ended without loss of life, they serve as a reminder of the importance of preparedness, timely response, and strict safety protocols in aviation.
