SGPC Issues Legal Notice To Motivational Speaker Dr Vivek Bindra For Hurting Sikh Sentiments

Dr. Vivek Bindra, one of the most famous motivational speakers in the country, has been sent a legal notice from the SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) for presenting the animated personality of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and distorting the Sikh history. Dr. Bindra has even disobeyed the rules of the Akal Takht, which do not allow the animating and filming of Sikh Gurus.

The SGPC has alleged that motivational speaker Dr. Vivek Bindra has animated the “dasam pita” Guru Gobind Singh Ji in one of his videos, presenting the wrong facts and hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community. “In the video, Guru Gobind Singh Ji is seen talking to Diwan Todarmal, where Todarmal has been linked to Jain community, which is factually wrong,” as stated by the SGPC.

A tweet (in Punjabi) on the official Twitter handle of the SGPC reads:

“Dr. Vivek Bindra ਨੇ ਦਸ਼ਮੇਸ਼ ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਖਸ਼ੀਅਤ ਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਫਿਲਮਾਂਕਣ SGPC ਨੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਲੀਗਲ ਨੋਟਿਸ”

Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, the assistant secretary of the SGPC, has said that the SGPC is even planning to get an FIR registered against Dr. Vivek Bindra for hurting the sentiments of Sikh community. The SGPC has even sent a written complaint to the office of Amritsar Police Commissionerate.

“The SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami ordered action, taking a strict notice of the matter and sent a legal notice to Dr Bindra”, said Kulwinder Singh Ramdas.

After the SGPC questioned the video and various questions were raised against the content posted by Dr. Vivek Bindra, the Sikh History Research Board examined the entire video and stated that the facts shown in that video are incorrect.
