The makers of the upcoming movie Shaktimaan are working seriously on getting amazing talent on board. Thousands of fans have their eyes set on this special movie, hence the makers do not want to take any risk on this project.
Sony Pictures Films India officially announced the much-awaited project about India’s most popular and loved superhero; Shaktimaan in February 2022. An announcement teaser was released on YouTube which grabbed everyone’s attention.
Since then, the fans have been discussing the probable star cast of the Indian superhero film and more about it. Ranveer Singh had expressed his desire to play Shaktimaan on screen, hence the fans are still waiting for him or the makers to officially announce if the Bajirao Mastani actor will lead the project or not.
While things about Ranveer Singh are still not clear, we have got to know that the makers of Shaktimaan have approached a South Indian film director to helm this special project. Earlier some reports suggested that Shaktimaan makers want Adipurush’s director Om Raut to direct this film, but the latest reports suggest that Shaktimaan’s makers want Minnal Murali fame Basil Joseph to direct the project.
As per a recent Pinkvilla report, the makers of the film are in talks to bring Minnal Murali fame, Basil Joseph, to come on board as the director of the film. A source close to the development told the portal, “Basil is well versed with the world of Indian Superhero Films and is a big fan of Shaktimaan himself. The director has already met the Shaktimaan team multiple times and is keen to come on board the film.”

The source added, “The producers have asked Basil to come up with his own version of the screenplay to know if he is on the same wavelength as the team on the visual and story-telling front.” This insider further revealed that the necessary paperwork and other aspects will be done once the first draft is locked and it’s as per the quality desired by the team.
The source also added, “Shaktimaan is a franchise that has the potential to change the game for Hindi Cinema and hence, the team is being very cautious with their choice of director. Mukesh Khanna has made the character a household name and the idea is to reintroduce the superhero to today’s audience. They have been talking to several top directors and as of now, Basil Joseph is the front runner to be at the helm of affairs, as all the meetings have met with a positive response.”

Nothing as of now is confirmed as Basil Joseph is yet to make a final decision on the same. Also, similar is the story with Ranbeer Singh. The actor to play Shaktimaan has not been finalized yet. Talking about the same, the source said, “Ranveer Singh will hear the script, get an idea of the vision that producers and directors have for the franchise, and only then play the superhero. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him as well to play a superhero on screen and hence, he is being cautious with what he picks up.”
No matter what, this film is surely going to be really special for all the Shaktimaan fans. Everyone is already excited about this project and waiting for their favourite superhero to come back eagerly.
