Sherni Review: Vidya Balan Justified The Title And It’s Not Only About The Tigress

Cast: Vidya Balan, Brijendra Kala, Sharat Saxena, Vijay Raaz, Neeraj Kabi and more.

Directed By: Amit Masurkar

Rating: 3.5/5

Amazon Prime Video has finally released its awaited and original movie ‘Sherni’ which stars Vidya Balan opposite the male dominated society. The film is receiving amazing response and the first thing that impressed us the most is the fact that Sherni really has something new and very unusual to serve. We really don’t remember uf Bollywood has ever made a film in which the working of forest department is shown at ground level. If you know please do let us know as well.

Now coming back to Sherni, it is beautifully directed by Amit Masurkar who also directed the Oscar nominated Newton. But unlike Newton, Sherni seems a little low.

But there are points which make this movie a must watch too. Vidya Balan plays the character of a forest officer who is posted to an office where everybody is more interested in earning revenues and escaping from duties.

And when the officers have to deal with a dangerous case of seeking a man hunter tigress, it pushes the actual story.

In the scenes where Vidya wants to speak up and is ignored or made to keep shut might frustrate and irritate you. Various male characters might also fill you with disgust and anger but let’s be honest, all it is the commendable acting skills of the actors.

The hero of the movie is Vidya Balan who has impressed us once again with her natural acting skills. She proved that make-up, slim body and glamour is actually not required when all you have to do is act well to win hearts.

Slowly as the movie will head forwards, you will start connecting with both Vidya Balan and the tigress as well. But what this hunt is going to end up like is something you will enjoy more when you’ll watch it on screen.

Talking about the location and cinematography, the movie is filled with extremely beautiful shots of greenery, jungles and nature. The maximum part of the film is shot and set up in the forests of Madhya Pradesh.

Sherni will also reflect and highlight important topics like politics, corruption, feminism, relationships and woman empowerment. Overall, it was a good and extremely heart winning experience watching Sherni and we must say it is a must watch for sure.

Sherni is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Have a happy time watching it.

Here is the official trailer of the movie which can help you out.
