Akshay Kumar indeed was very confident about his movie Samrat Prithviraj. The period drama film also stars Manushi Chiller as Rajkumari Sanyogita, Sonu Sood as Chand Bardai and Sanjay Dutt as Kaka Kanha. The film started receiving mixed reactions after its trailer was released, but no one expected it to be this bad at the box office.
As per reports of Mint, Samrat Prithviraj experienced an opening of almost 10.70 crores and went on to collect a total of 39.40 crores in 3 days. But now, it looks like the film is finding it difficult to maintain its stability.
Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj is struggling miserably at the box office as it only got 9% occupancy in the morning of the fourth day. As per Bollywood Hungama, ‘Certain locations also reporting that shows of the film have been cancelled due to no audience. In locations like Akola [Miraj], Raigad [Carnival], Prayagraj [Starworld], Punjab and Satara, theatres have been reporting lack of bookings leading to cancellation of shows. Interestingly, each of the locations that have featured cancellations have been multiplex properties where footfalls have been dismal.’

The film could only earn an estimate of 4-5 crore on its fourth day. The film’s reviews are also not overwhelming; hence the fans are not too attracted to the film. Apart from its struggle at the box office, Samrat Prithviraj has also fallen prey to trolling and criticism.
Akshay Kumar proudly revealed that it has taken 18 years of research behind making this film. but still, the people were smart enough to catch the wrongly presented historical facts in the film which were then trolled badly on social media.
