After a recent video of the two at an event rekindled old rumors, actress Sonali Bendre has finally responded to the social media flurry that has been spreading about her and politician Raj Thackeray.
Videos that compared their recent exchange to an earlier occasion when they hosted pop star Michael Jackson in India went viral, leading to rumors of their alleged previous romance. Some even asserted that Sonali was the object of Raj Thackeray’s affection.
In an interview, Sonali responded to these rumors by asking, “Did he? “I doubt it,” she said, adding that she was only talking to her sister at the time.
“It’s just not in good taste,” she said, criticizing the online rumors. Families are involved. Talking like this is unfair.
Sonali talked more about her enduring familial ties to the Thackerays. Her sister’s mother-in-law used to be the head of the English literature department at Ruia College, where Sonali attended, and her brother-in-law, a cricket player, used to play with Raj’s cousin.
She also related a memory from her early years: “My Maasi and Raj’s wife Sharmila’s mother were best friends. When I was born, she held me like a baby! Sonali said that although they were related, she didn’t spend much time in Maharashtra as a child and only went there during the summer.
Sonali said, “I don’t have thick skin and I’m not politically correct,” in response to a question about going into politics. Therefore, there are no goals there.
