Sonali Phogat Murder Case: Goa Club Owner And Drug Peddler Nabbed By Police Officials

According to the latest media reports, the police officials have claimed that Sonali Phogat, before her death, was forcefully made to drink something suspicious in water, by her two associates, who had been arrested recently by the police. This possibility is the actual reason behind her death. Reportedly, both the associates have confessed that they procured drugs from Gaonkar, a drug dealer.

Additionally, the Goa police have arrested the club owner and a drug dealer today. Furthermore, it’s the owner of the restaurant where Sonali Phogat was seen partying before her death. With this, 4 people have been arrested in the case till now. Renowned film actress and Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s death was seen as a case of heart attack.

However, after her family members refused to accept that it was a heart attack, and demanded a probe, the Goa police started investigating the matter. As of now, 25 suspects have been questioned and 4 arrested. Recently, two of Sonali’s associates Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh were nabbed by the police, and today, Edwin Nunes, Curlie’s restaurant owner, and drug dealer Dattaprasad Gaonkar have been arrested. 

On Wednesday, citing the security camera footage and purported admissions, the police claimed that Sonali Phogat was at a famous restaurant-cum-nightclub on Anjuna beach when she was forced to drink “some foul chemical” mixed in water by Sangwan and Singh, two of her associates. 

As per the media reports, the police officials have claimed, the CCTV footage reveals that Sonali’s associate Sudhir Sangwan forcefully made her drink the suspicious liquid, after which she felt uneasy and started facing a difficulty in walking. Next morning she was taken to St. Anthony Hospital where the doctors declared her dead.
