Squid Game: Netflix Announces Season 2 Of The Mega-Hit Korean Web Show

Get ready! Squid Game Season 2 is finally coming. Netflix has made the official announcement for the sequel season to one of their most successful web shows ever. Netflix shared a short teaser of the famous Squid Game Doll, announcing season 2 of the show.

Squid Game Season 1 was released in September, 2021. In just 28 days of its release, Squid Game was watched for a total of around 1650 million hours, making it the most watched Netflix original web series ever. It also won numerous international awards, pushing the creator Hwang Dong-hyuk for a season 2.

The season 1 cast included Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-joon, HoYeon Jung, O Yeong-su, Heo Sung-tae, Anupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-ryoung in pivotal roles. They were immensely loved by the audience. The cast and other details of Season 2 are yet to be revealed. It is expected to stream on Netflix sometime in 2023 or 2024.

Squid Game is viewed as a revolution for Korean Drama. It played a key role in fetching global attention and recognition for Korean Drama, which wasn’t as popular worldwide before the release of Squid Game.

The audience had been waiting for a sequel for a long time. It will be quite interesting to see how the story unfolds, what new characters are the series going to bring on board and what is going to be different this time.
