Punjab was left shocked when they saw the news of none other than Sidhu Moosewala joining Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee on 3 December in Chandigarh. Now that the singer has finally decided to step his foot in politics, he’ll have to go through the bad side of it too.
Recently, Sukhbir Singh Badal, President of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the CM Candidate of Punjab in the 2022 Assembly Elections, was seen talking about Sidhu Moosewala joining Congress. SAD and Congress are arch-rivals and we have never seen a party praising its rival in Indian politics, ever!

So, Sukhbir Singh Badal, when asked about his take on Sidhu Moosewala from Mansa, joining the Congress party, said that it lies with the personal interest of an individual whether he wants to step into politics or not, but he should know that it will bring his positive and the negative sides, both in front of the public.
He went on to add that when you’re an artist, you are supported equally by any party whether it’s AAP, SAD or Congress but now that you’ve decided to take up a position, opposition will be formed against you. Sukhbir Badal wasn’t heard taking any direct shots at the singer’s move to join Congress.
Politics is a much different line than singing. Sidhu Moosewala has been ruling over the Punjabi audience and even taken his art to global level, for years but politics is a whole new field for him. He joined Congress ahead of State Assembly Elections 2022 and this year’s elections are speculated to be one of the most unpredictable one’s ever. Sidhu might even get a ticket from Mansa constituency, owing to the massive support he has from that area.
