Sushmita Sen Recalls When Mahesh Bhatt Publicly Insulted Her In Front Of Media & Crew

Sushmita Sen is counted among the eternal beauties of India. She won the title of Miss Universe in 1994 and made millions of heads turn. Soon after she won the international beauty pageant, and was crowned the miss universe, she was showered with enormous offers from Bollywood Film Industry. 

And she finally decided to make her debut with Mahesh Bhatt’s Dastak. Bhatt offered the film to Sushmita even when she had no acting background but also insulted the lady on the film sets. Sushmita has opened up about the incident in her latest interview with Twinkle Khanna.

Daskat was released in 1996 and starred Sushmita Sen in the leading role of a beauty queen. Actors like Mukul Dev, Sharad Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee and Vishwajeet Pradhan were also seen in the film.

While recalling the humiliating incident, Sushmita told Twinkle, “He is a fabulous director, I will give him that because he broke an ambition in front of 40 media people and 20 production guys, publicly attacking me. I started crying, ‘I told you I can’t act, why you called me for this, I don’t know how to act.’ Then, he’s like, ‘kya leke aaye ho, playing Miss Universe like this on camera. She can’t act to save her life.’ I got really angry.”

In response to all this, Sushmita then started walking off the set where she was topped by Mahesh Bhatt who held her hand. He turned and warned Mahesh Bhatt, ‘No, you don’t talk to me like that.’ She then was walking away and he grabbed it again and said, ‘That’s anger! Go back and give it….’ and she did.
