
Following the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171 near Ahmedabad, Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran announced strong support measures for the victims’ families and survivors.
The company will give ₹1 crore to the families of each person who lost their life in the crash. “No words can adequately express the grief we feel at this moment. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones, and with those who have been injured,” Chandrasekaran said in a heartfelt statement.

He also shared that Tata Group will take care of the medical treatment for the injured and ensure they receive full support. Additionally, the group will help build a new hostel at B.J. Medical College.
“We remain steadfast in standing with the affected families and communities during this unimaginable time,” he added.
Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata also expressed his sorrow, saying, “This heart-wrenching incident has brought immense grief to countless families, and our thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones today.”
Flight AI171 was flying from Ahmedabad to London with 242 people onboard. The DGCA confirmed that the plane crashed shortly after takeoff, sending a distress signal before losing contact. Thick black smoke was seen at the crash site.
