In the list of the many Punjabi films announced this year, Television is an important mention. Starring Kulwinder Billa and Mandy Takhar in the lead, the official release date of ‘Television’ has been announced through social media. The film will be released in theatres worldwide on 24 June, 2022.
The film will be presented under the banner of Saga Studios. The film is helmed by a reputed director of the industry, Taj. Sumeet Singh and Pushpinder Kaur have produced the film in a collaborative effort.
Mandy Takhar and Kulwinder Billa will be supported by Gurpreet Ghuggi, Harby Sangha, BN Sharma, Prince Kanwaljit Singh, Baninderjit Singh and many other reputed actors of the industry. The star cast of the film hints that it is going to be full of comedy! The film is written by Mani Manjinder Singh while Tata Benipal and Aman Sidhu have written the dialogues.
The film’s title and probably even the plot, is inspired from legendary Punjabi folk singers, Mohd. Sadiq and Ranjit Kaur’s song ‘Tasviran Boldiyan’. The team even used the song as the background music for sharing multiple posters of the film at the same time.
What can be understood from the many posters and the inspiration of the film is that it is probably based around old times, when Televisions were not so common. It could narrate the story of how a television in a village changed their fate or at least something around that.
