Terrorist K*lled in Amritsar Blast While Handling Explosive, Linked to Babbar Khalsa

A suspected terrorist with alleged ties to the banned Babbar Khalsa group was killed in an explosion while attempting to retrieve an explosive device in Amritsar’s Majitha area, police officials confirmed on Monday morning. The blast occurred near the bypass on Majitha road. His identity remains unknown at this point.

According to Deputy Inspector General (Border Range) Satinder Singh, “The man who died was a member of a terrorist organisation. He died in a blast while trying to retrieve an explosive. We are investigating what was on their target. We have found some clues from his pants’ pocket.”

The incident has sparked an intensive investigation into the individual’s possible links to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, as well as the Babbar Khalsa, which is designated a terrorist organisation in India.

Local authorities were alerted early in the day about a blast in Majitha. Upon reaching the scene, they discovered the man critically injured. Despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries soon after.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), Maninder Singh, shared that initial findings suggest the man was trying to recover a consignment of explosives. “It appears that he did not handle it properly, and it exploded,” he stated.

Investigations are currently underway.
