The Punjabi Superstar Who Worked With Drake: “Nav” Navraj Singh Goraya

Navraj Singh Goraya, who presents himself before the world by the name “Nav” is a Canadian Rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer born in Ontario, Canada. Though he was born and raised in Canada, his family is originally from Punjab.

Who knew a boy making mashups in Highschool for underground Toronto artists was soon going to blow up the whole world. 

Nav began his music career as a producer, co-producing “Back to Back” by none other than Drake in 2015. The boy was already a talent-tank, and his grand debut already hinted at great things on their way for the artist. 2016 proved to be the breakthrough year for the artist when his song “Myself” went viral and he gained worldwide recognition.

He has released 3 studio albums in his career and is currently signed to “XO Records” founded by one of the history’s highest selling artists worldwide, the Weeknd.

In 2020, the artist completed the hattrick of nominations for the Juno Award, when he was nominated for the straight 3rd time in 3 years.

Nav also made a cameo appearance in the viral “Brown Munde” song by Ap Dhillon, Gurinder Gill and Shinda Kahlon. He isn’t as recognized in the Punjabi world as in the western.
