Punjabi Cinema fans should already start celebrating! The wait has finally ended. The most awaited Punjabi film, Chal Mera Putt 2 has been announced to officially release in theatres, worldwide on 27th of August. The film faced many obstacles before releasing, due to the global pandemic of Coronavirus, but it is now finally releasing.
The film had earlier been released in theatres on 13 March, 2020. But it suffered heavy loss of business in various territories worldwide due to the lockdown being put in force all over the world owing to the global coronavirus pandemic breakdown.
Soon, theatres in India were shut down and nation-wide lockdowns were imposed. Cinema fans were the saddest of the lot, they could no more enjoy going to theatres. Chal Mera Putt 2 especially was getting magnificent response from the audience but COVID-19 affected its business. And ever since it was taken down from the theatres, the fans have been awaiting for its re-release.
The film stars Amrinder Gill, Garry Sandhu and Simi Chahal in the lead roles. The duo is supported by actors Iftikhar Thakur, Nasir Chinyoti, Akram Udas, Zafri Khan, Gurshabad, Hardeep Gill, Nirmal Rishi, and Ruby Anam. It has been directed by the very talented and the director of the first part of the series, Janjot Singh. Chal Mera Putt is the highest-grossing overseas Punjabi movie ever. The production is led by Rhythm Boyz Entertainment, Gillz Network, Phantasy Films Ltd Productions and Omjee Star Studios.
This is a big news coming Punjabi cinemas fans’ way. The recent upliftment of COVID restrictions on theatres has paved the way for the industry to finally start working and release films in the theatres.
