Threat Calls To Mukesh Ambani And His Family, Mumbai Police Arrests The Accused Named Afzal

Renowned business tycoon and chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, and his family had received threats from an individual, after which the Maharashtra police was into action. As per the media reports, the man behind the threat calls, has been identified as Afzal. 

Afzal has been taken into custody by the Mumbai police. Reportedly, he made around three to four threat calls on a landline number at the hospital of Reliance foundation in Girgaon today morning, as claimed by an official. After tracing the phone number, Mumbai police finally arrested Afzal.

However, as per the initial investigation, Afzal is mentally unstable. Though, the Mumbai police has taken him in custody and is questioning him in the matter. Last month, the Supreme Court, while rejecting a plea challenging the security provided by the Central government to Mukesh Ambani and his family, stated that the security would be continued. 

Last year, an abandoned vehicle was recovered with explosives, near the residence of Mr. Ambani, after which, a threat to the Ambani family was speculated. Even the name of a former police officer came into this controversial matter. At the time, even a handwritten letter was found in the abandoned car, threatening Mr. Mukesh and his wife Nita Ambani. 

The union government approached the Supreme Court after the Tripura high court accepted a plea challenging the security provided to Mukhesh Ambani and his family by the Central government. The Maharashtra government granted security to the Ambani family after the Centre evaluated a threat perception. 

Furthermore, now Afzal is finally in the custody of Mumbai police and the investigation is ongoing.
