Tragic End at PU Concert: Four Arrested for Student’s Stabbing Death

In a shocking turn of events, Punjab University student Aditya Thakur was fatally stabbed during a musical concert on the Sector 25 campus late Friday night. Four suspects, all residents of Mani Majra, have been arrested in connection with the case. They have been identified as Lavish from CGC, Landran; Sahil and Udey from Khalsa College, Sector 26, Chandigarh; and Raghav, also from the same college.

Investigations revealed that Thakur and his friends got into a minor altercation with the accused while exiting the venue. Later, the suspects regrouped with their friends, who provoked them to retaliate. Acting on this, they returned to the campus and confronted Thakur and his friends near Boys Hostel No. 8. The situation quickly escalated, leading to one of the assailants stabbing Thakur in the back and another student in the leg.

Initially, the police registered the case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Following Thakur’s passing, Section 103(2) (murder) was added. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities conducting raids to track down the remaining culprits.

The heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves across the university community. Thakur’s final rites were performed in his hometown, Amroh, Dasuya tehsil.
