Truck Collides with Mumbai-Amravati Express Near Bodwad, No Injuries Reported

A truck crashed into the Mumbai-Amravati Express near Bodwad Railway Station in Maharashtra early Friday morning, briefly disrupting railway traffic. Fortunately, all passengers on board and the truck driver were unharmed, railway officials confirmed.

A video of the accident shows the truck split into two, with smoke emerging from its engine. The front part of the truck became entangled with the train’s engine, though officials stated that the locomotive did not sustain any damage.

The incident took place around 4:30 am when the truck, carrying wheat, attempted to cross the railway tracks through an unauthorized route, according to reports. “The level-crossing has been long closed and was replaced by a Railway over Bridge. The truck still broke into the old level crossing stopper to land on the track,” a senior official told the Times of India.

The collision damaged railway infrastructure, including overhead electric wires, leading to a temporary suspension of services. However, train operations were restored by 8:50 am.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine how the truck managed to enter the closed crossing.
