Twisha Sharma D*ath Case: Husband Samarth Singh To Surrender Before Jabalpur Court

Samarth Singh arrives in Jabalpur court in Twisha Sharma death case

The legal proceedings in the Twisha Sharma death case intensified on May 22 after counsel for Samarth Singh confirmed that he would surrender before the Jabalpur court later in the day. Twisha Sharma, 33, was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on May 12, and the case has since triggered widespread public attention over allegations linked to dowry harassment and suspicious circumstances in the Twisha Sharma death case.

Speaking to reporters, advocate Jaideep Kaurav said Samarth Singh had not yet reached the court premises but would surrender shortly. “He has to surrender… He will surrender in Jabalpur Court,” Kaurav stated.

Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh High Court issued notices on petitions challenging the anticipatory bail granted to Giribala Singh, Twisha Sharma’s mother-in-law. The pleas were filed by both the Madhya Pradesh government and Sharma’s father in the ongoing Twisha Sharma death case.

Advocate Ankur Pandey, appearing for the victim’s family, said the next hearing is scheduled for May 25. According to him, the court will hear arguments on why Giribala Singh’s bail should be cancelled and examine alleged legal loopholes in the earlier order.

High Court Orders Second Postmortem

In a major development in the Twisha Sharma death case, the High Court also permitted a second postmortem of Twisha Sharma’s body. The court directed the director of AIIMS Delhi to form a panel of medical experts and send them to AIIMS Bhopal to conduct the autopsy.

Twisha Sharma’s family had approached the High Court after a lower court rejected their request for a second postmortem earlier this week.

The Madhya Pradesh government has also recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the matter. A notification issued by the Home Department confirmed that the state had granted consent for the CBI to take over the investigation connected to Crime No. 133/2026 registered at Katara Hills Police Station in Bhopal.

The transfer includes allegations related to conspiracy and other connected offences in the Twisha Sharma death case.
